Recent changes to Social Security policies may affect people with disabilities and their families. At Shared Horizons, we’re committed to keeping you informed as new updates are released.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has reinstated the 100% withholding rate for Social Security recipients with overpayments. However, if the overpayment occurred before March 27, or if you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), the withholding rate remains at 10%.

If you receive a notice of overpayment, please contact your trust administrator right away to discuss your options.

Beginning April 14, 2025, people applying for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Medicare, or SSI who are unable to access the my Social Security online portal will be able to complete their entire application by phone, without needing to visit a Social Security office.

For additional details, visit www.ssa.gov.
